How do I hide tattoos from my co-workers?

Question

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my back, but I don't want anyone at work to find out or else it might lead to negative consequences. I know once summer comes, it would hard to hide the tattoo because of the thin materials, but I still want to get one. Any ideas? Similar experiences?
BTW: the place where I work is laid back but still corporate. Having a tattoo would be taboo.

I think there is makeup that could cover a tattoo. Certain makeup can cover birthmarks and scars, so why not a tattoo.

I have 4 tattoo's but I really don't have to worry about hiding them. Although you'd never know I have them if I didn't want to show them. I really don't think you'll be wearing something so thin that the tattoo would show through. If that's the case you're bra would be showing which wouldn't go over well either. Just be careful not to place it where it would show if you wear a tank top type of shirt. Choose carefully your design AND your tattoo artist. Good Luck and I hope you love it!!!!!

If you have to hide the tattoo and worry about opinions at work, why get one? But if you do get one, why not put it in a place where the public won't see it?

If you are thinking about getting a tattoo, you need to know why you want one before you go to the time and expense of having one done.

You shouldn't get one just to thumb your nose at the office staff. Something so permanent should having meaning.

Just don't wear thin materials and don't wear a shirt that may ride up in the back... Or you could just wear a band-aid over the tattoo while your at work

I own a franchise and our corporate headquarters are kind of like your place of employment. When I get tattoos I get them places my clothing will cover up. I can go on sales calls without my tattoos showing up. Keep your clothing long enough and thick enough to keep them covered.

i got a tattoo on my shoulder and i am the public realtions manager of an international hotel chain. No one wud ever guess that i have a tattoo since it is also considered very taboo.

Stick to dark clothings during summer.......

i have worked in corporate settings and there was NEVER a reason for my tattoos to show. most companies have policies about showing middrifts, backs and shoulders. i'm sure there are other people where you work that have tattoos. where on your back are you thinking about getting it?

what you do with your body is totally up to you. if you want one then get one. it isn't anyones business what you do with your body. i work in hospital. i just got one on my wraist and hide it for about a week because @ the hospital we would have to wear uniforms with sleeves if we had any that showed. but once it got out that I had one, no one said anything about it..I actually got a different job within the hospital where I am involved with the patients face to face more and my new supervisor didn't say anything about my tatt. and she is the one that hired me. what I'm trying to say, if you don't say anything about it to anyone, and if they do see it when your wearing thin materials, just say "oh that" and then tell them

If the tattoo is on your back then wouldnt your shirt cover it? If for osme reason it dosent then i would suggest using a bandage to cover it up (they make big bandages)

Wear what you want just wear a cami if your a girl or a wife beater if your a guy under your shirts. That should help keep your secrets secret. I have the same "problem".
