Can evaporated milk be dranked like milk?If so, how do i dilute the whole can?

I kinda ran out at the last minute with out some milk and found some evap milk. Never used it before and the kidz want some milk w/chocolate before they go into bed.

Yes, you sure can drink it. Just mix half milk and half water.

Yes, you can use evaporated milk in the place of whole milk. That is a great substitute. To create milk, add equal amounts of water to CARNATION Evaporated Milk. One 12 fl. oz. can (1 1/2 cups) makes 3 cups of milk. Then you can make their chocolate milk with it before they go to bed and they will be happy too. the can says it's diluted by 50% so it suggests 1 can of water to 1 can of evap milk. just last week the samething happened to me. i used it for morning cereal. not as bad as i expected. it looks a little.... yellow or off white-ish and has a little bit of difference to it, but i can't quite pinpoint it. i actually thought to myself that it would be just fine for chocolate milk. the trick??? get it very cold ( that'll help) and use a tad bit more chocolate. mix it before hand and (like i said) get it cold. they'll never know the difference.

The rate of dilution should be on the can.
I usually use a 1:1 ratio for myself. 1 can water mixed with 1 can milk.

Yes you can drink it,as you said your children want milk with chocolate.so why dont you make a shake in BLENDERs JUG.
put same amount milk and water add sugar in the jug.
you can put any fruit or chocolate(whatever kind it is,you can microwave it with little amount of milk.and pour it into jug)
Put some ice into jug too and shake it.
pour it into glasses sprinkle COCOA on top or if you have
READYMADE Whip cream just add it a scoop on top of it.
your kids will love it.
