Try not asking her any questions. Seriously woman can feel so depended upon sometimes that a simple question that requires an answer is to much to take. Try things like saying I am going to set the table for that lovely meal you are preparing. Trying to co-operate with your wife will help to make her feel a little more at ease. Use your imagination and remember even if it is a little one DO not ask any questions. :)

It is more important to listen to what she is not saying but emoting rather than her expression. She is not happy about something and the fact that you cannot read it makes her more frustrated.

Just give her sometime and initiate a talk but end up listening more than talking and you will get your answer. Appreciate it if she does come straight and tell you what bothers her and that will open a new channel of communication and minimise household grumles.

Well, in addition to being a wife, I take it she's also a _human being._ So why don't you try treating her like a human being. I guarantee you'll get a better reaction.

P.S. I would also go wild if my husband and family kept asking when dinner was ready, and I would tell them to _go make their own flocking dinners._

How can we or how can you?

If this is the only incident then I would not consider her an abusing wife. She may have been upset about something else before dinner. Don't take everything so personal. Try to look at her point of view. What was going on before she went off ?

Best of luck.

There's something else going on here, other than u asking "is dinner ready". Something else is going on in her life & u need to sit her down & ask her, gently, what's wrong. Has this been going on for a while or is this something new? Either way, she's upset about something & u need to find out what. If she won't talk to u, ask her to see a counciler, & u'll go w/ her. If she won't go, then go without her & see what u can find out. If u can't do that, then talk to her Dr. & tell him/her what's going on, & maybe he/she can recommend someone for u to talk to. Good Luck.

Cook for yourself, Hire a maid, eat out at McDonald's, or Divorce her and marry someone less high strung.
