As a Christian, I shouldn't think this way. But there were times I really questioned the existence of God, especially when going through unbearably tough times. At the time, I felt like if there was indeed a God, He wouldn't let me go through severe depression and lust problem. I also felt like if indeed God is out there, many innocent people wouldn't suffer or die by the hands of evil people.
Now I believe in heart that God exists. I believe He exists, is watching every good & bad things going on around the world, and will show humankind how precioius, amazing life can be through trials and errors.
To all the Christians here, what is the sure sign that God exists? How can you really believe in Him without being able to actually communicate in voice or seeing Him in person?
Thanks in advance for any insights.

There are so many bad thing goin' on in this world, including millions of people being killed for no reason and disease and disorder. Even as a human being, if I had the supernatural power, I would definitely stop these from happening. So if God is such a supreme person, do you think he will let such things happen? When you have the power to stop anything bad, but you let it happen anyway, and sit and watch it, do you think such a God exists?
If he did exist, either he's been asleep for mellinniums or someone has truly killed him.

I think the main method through which people are able to understand and feel certain that God exists is observation and reason. The majority of people whom seriously consider whether or not their diety exists and do not arbitrarily take for granted their parent's doctrine of beliefs either support or deny the existence of God based on these two principles. Personally, despite having seen no evidence to support a God, I am not entirely convinced of an on-face rejection either.
The one thing I am certain of is that the Christian version of God cannot possibly be superior to the version in any other religion. Perhaps the most amusing facet of modern religion is the complete rejection of polytheism, due to the supposed 'ridiculous' nature of the stories and superstitions. Is it any more unrealistic for a flying chariot to create the sun than for a lowly man to kill a supposed giant with a pebble? (David and Goliath, if you somehow did not get the allusion).
Religion, in it's fundamental expressions, has always reflected the contemporary viewpoints of the culture through which it is expressed. This is why religion is dynamic and has been thus far in human history proved itself to be the most resiliant and accomodating human belief. in the old days, when it was Religiously illegal to work on sunday or eat meat, people still obeyed these because they were the word of God. Once they systems became either too un-wieldy for the common man or too absurdist in nature to believe in, the church and subsequently its followers denied these beliefs and moved on without them.
The question which is most important is not whether God exists or not, but whether attaching yourself to a specific organized religion is advantageous or what God would want. Organized religions lead to hatred, war, and millions of deaths. Personal religions lead to none of these things. If the only reason you remain faithful is to gain the pleasure of others knowing you are religious, you should immediately give up your faith and stop living a lie. If you believe in God for any of the moral or ethical considerations presented in them, exorcise yourself from the church and begin a new kind of faith. A kind of faith which is perpetuated not from a tyrannical type of control mechanism, but rather through personal enlightenment and spirituality. A much deeper understanding of both the scripture through which you interpret the word of God and also yourself will both be amplified significantly.

Well, if there were a sure sign, I wouldn't be an athiest. I've been an atheist for over 20 years now, and I haven't seen any sure signs of any god existing. But I have seen many sure signs that gods are man-made.

The state of conciousness or rapture which one attains either through meditation, prayer, repetition of rosary, or intonations such as the Gregorian chants.

The intensity of this experience even if you don't enter into it seeking to verify the existence of diety is the most intense and real experience one can have.

Read books, listen to music, practice meditation and pray that this truth is revealed to you. Regardless of your religion if you seek hard enough the experience will be revealed to you.

After this experience you will understand the writings of the mystics and the truth which can not be expressed in words but only by gnosis.

He said blessed are those who don't see and believe, but he knew we need proof as humans. I see a hand in the universe in its vastness. Sometimes I look at the hubble photographs, sometimes at my child. Gods presence is in the human spirit that transcends self serving actions. For every horrible person there are many good people who risk their lives for others. I look at the beauty of our planet and know there was a divine inspiration. The fact that you have the mental wherewithal to question the universe should be your proof.

I was going to go into a long story detailing the birth of my son 5 years ago, but in short just know that miracles happen every day... all around you. Some you may recognize, some you'll never know. But miracles happen every day. I'm convinced that there's a higher power who allows for the good as well as evil. Through your trials and tribulations, your toughest times... you are still here. And I'll bet stronger for it. Yes, miracles happen every day.

I just think of everything around me in the world. When I see a tree or a bird, I know God had to make that tree or bird. I just look at God's creation and I think in my mind that it only makes sense that God does exsist and has created these things. Another sign evidence, this one i don't emphasis as much is, the messanic prophecsis that are in the Bible about Jesus. One of them talks about a King being born in Bethleham. Jesus was born in Bethleham. And when Harrod asked him "Are you the King of the Jews." He said as surely as you say I am. Just one out of many.

There is none. All anyone has is a book of mythologies and a lot of unbelievable tall tales that some swear are ABSOLUTELY TRUE and that if you dare question even one of them for an INSTANT you're as good as fried.
