Most likely a high percentage of guys and a low percentage of girls will say "yes." As for me, I won't say no, because it depends on the situation. Rather than trying to explain in detail here, I will keep it simple and answer your question with a yes.

If you are not religious and the person is a nice person (respectful, won't abuse or brag about it, etc.) then it's not such a bad thing to do.
If you are really good friends with this person though, then think twice about it because it can confuse the relationship or make a friendship into something so much more and so very valuable, but you don't really know which way it will go.
At the moment I would say no unless I had strong feelings of a non physical nature. i.e. I really liked just being around that person.
Also consider the standards of your friends and family. If they would consider you dirty for it then you should not do it because these are the people you spend more than one night with.

no I do not care to risk contracting aids or getting an std (even with a rubber it can happen) or get a bad rep and be the rumor of the week from some horndog who I am sure will brag about it, thank you very much. anyway sex is so much better with involvement and or at least some mutual caring and respect between 2 people

Just the fact that it would be only one night stand, it would not stop me, if all other factors are favorable! I would put 100% in to it if I am going for it!
