This remains a racist issue as long as the people in Illinois continue to invite and feed these poor, desperate creatures who are merely fleeing the state of Texas.

I grew up in Texas. Why armadillos would flee to Illinois is beyond me. When there was an armadillo unfortunate enough to be caught under the wheels of an automobile, someone ALWAYS put a Lone Star beer bottle in the 'paws' of the deceased. I wonder if the armadillos fleeing Texas now realize that there is no Lone Star beer in Illinois. My bet is that there will be a mass emmigration back to Texas once they find out. Can't answer about skunks, but maybe a fair trade-off would be that only armadillos work on February 2nd (that'll give the groundhogs the 'holiday' off).

You know, in Mexico, where there used to be a lot of very, very fabulous birds ...there are none/few anymore. Why, because the basic lack of law/concern, allowed the killing of many native species by the locals. And that's what the Mexicanos did. I guess/heard they ate them. It's a good metaphore. Plug it in as you will. True story.

As far as the Armadillos go, last time I looked some were and some were not USA bred creatures.
I guess it wouldn't matter if they come and go ...as long as they don't screw up our tax base, political base, language base and the language that we speak.

Also, hopefully they won't cause problems for the passage of the Killer Bees, who are now sweeping up the American penninsula.
I hear even the Mexicans are concerned. Course we are giving them money to do what they need to do to stop the problem in Mexico. I don't think it' working though.
Maybe we won't have to worry about Armadillos or Mexican Illegals ...or anything else.

Heads in the sand, tails up.

I don't approve of illegal immigration but as much as they have bad influence on the economy, they do have good influence too. There is casual labor jobs which most Americans even if totally bankrupt won't do but these illegal immigrants would do to survive. Most of these illegal immigrants get cheat out on by employers and are left to the chance of choosing to shut up and stay or talk but get nothing. The only defense for Americans is for a tight border security but should temper justice with mercy when these immigrants finally make it in here.

No need for alarm! Remain calm!

So far, Armadillos have met all the requirements of US citizenship, remained drug free, don't belong to trashy gangs, have been honest and hard-working, patriotic, ........and have mastered the English language unlike their neighbors to the south. LMFAO
