I'm about to replace the radiator in my wife's 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport. I need to know the proper procedure for bleeding the cooling system.

Thank You,

i own a repair shop, and it can be called bleeding it off, there's different names for it,,but the proper way to do it is fill it,and run it for a while shut it off ,purge it,,or burp it,,you can do this by squeezing on the top radiator hose,,it will help force any air bubbles out of it,,then start it again,,keep a check on the coolant level in the bottle,,make sure it stays full, two times should do this one,,and make sure the heater is on all the time your doing this,,have the temperature on hot all the way ,this helps circulate the coolant a lot better ,good luck with it,,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

You don't "bleed" a cooling system. You "thermocycle" it. Its actually quite painless. It will take about three times of bringing your engine up to temperature and then letting it cool off. Just make sure your overflow bottle is well beyond "Full HOT" when you've got as much coolant in the system as possible.

Then after the first cycle, make sure the level is at "Full COLD". Do another cycle; check the fluid level when cold and top it off to "Full COLD". Keep doing this until the level no longer falls.

The cooling gadget would desire to be tension examined returned for leaks. freed from charge when you consider that they did no longer restoration the difficulty the 1st time. That motor vehicle can even have an auxiliary electric fan that aids in engine cooling so as that fan would desire to be checked for operation. Does it overheat on the same time as using, I advise on the line would it not nevertheless overheat? you need to have a defective radiator, as somebody else pronounced you need to have offered intense end aftermarket factors particularly of allowing the dealership to throw factors on the motor vehicle and not restoration the difficulty. in case you do no longer strategies spending funds then go forward and get a sparkling radiator and new hoses. do no longer forget that the temperature gauge sensor must be defective as nicely till you verify engine temps with a thermometer. stable success.
