Preparation! Start committing yourself to study the language and the culture. Study the land and the people. Talk to your Pastor, fast and pray. Become a giver to another missionary to that country and be sure to minister to and win lost souls where your located right now. PEACE!!!

Just do it! Walk out of your comfort zone and take that first plunge like Mother Teresa walking out of her convent at age 40, into India's streets of chaos filled with religious strife. And when her Mother Superior tried to intervene, she said she was merely following the voice in her heart.
Seek a Christian or catholic organisation that does missionary work, it'll tell you what you need to do. If it is God's Will for you to be a missionary, he'll make all your paths towards missionary work straight.

There are great missionaries out there. It is a mission already when you are in a volunteer program. It does not have to be religious though it can be good for you. All acts of charitable institutions becomes a mission to someone who is willing to spend his life doing that. Google the best you think you can be good at. God had listed a lot through them.

You follow Gods calling. Do not wait for church support, do not go to schooling and don't waste time finding funding. Christ sent his apostles out and told them to bring no money. Churches will delay you and trick you out of serving God. I'm assuming you would be using the Bible as your basis? Find a program of Bible study and get familiar with it. You have to know what you'll be helping others to learn. That's your first step.
