Yes, any shallow pan will do. If you do not have a pan, the use aluminum foil that has been folded over several times so that it is thick and can support the weight of the chicken. make sure to create a lip on the foil so that the juices do not overflow on the floor of the oven.

You can use any pan with a rim and place a drip rack inside the pan so that the bottom does not get soggy. Quick tip, if you do not have a drip rack, take about 14 inches of aluminum foil and fold it several times and form a circle. Place chicken on top and bake, covered with foil until done throughout and remove foil to brown. Remember to baste every 15-20 minutes.

Use a baking dish. Place either celery stalks or carrots cut in half length wise across the dish. place the bird on top of it. If the bird is around 4 lbs cook at 400 for about an hour. If over 4lbs cook at 400 for the first 1/2 hour and then 350 for the remainder.

Almost any oven-proof pan would do. You might want to crumple up some foil to put in the bottom so the chicken isn't sitting right on the bottom of the pan. Otherwise, just put it in and go for it.

two things....one you can use a can of beer or cola, open the can then stuff it in the larger hole of the chicken and set it in a pan with sides, bake it as normal the beer/cola marinades it as it cooks...also at walmart or those type stores they carry something like a 'stand' its in the housewares section...its a wire rack type thing that you set the chicken up on and again put it in a pan and bake it like you normally would...make sure you brush the chicken with olive oil to keep it moist and tender and to make sure it browns. using either of these ways will give you a similar taste to spit roasted,

Cake pan, iron skillet as long as the handle is plain old iron too.

I use cake pans all the time. You don't have to cover a chicken to bake it.

you can even use a baking dish covered in aluminum foil, just cover the chicken also with aluminum foil to prevent oil spillage during cooking.
