what kind of beer/wine are you drinking and why?

Just had a nice bottle of Chimay, by the fire!
It's an Ale made by Monks in Belgium.
These guys take their beer seriously!!

I favor Boonts IPA because it is a very hoppy beer with natural citrus overtones, yummy! Boont ale is made in Northern California.
And in the world of wine I favor the French's Cote du Rhone region; specifically the Cote Rotie. I find the French wines complex and uncompromising. Lately I have been finding the California wines sweet, simple, and grotesque. I don't care what Wine Spectator says.
My newest obsession lately takes us back to France: French apple cider! This is the Champagne of cider. Its not that sweet Anglo drink for girls, this is something more profound; its sparkling apple wine! And it is dry as hell! Not sweet in the least bit. The good ones allow you to taste the farm it was grown and bottled on. When I take a sip I can taste the soil the apple grew in, the goat that was tied to the tree, and the fungussy old cellar the bottle was aged in!

Unfortunately, I am not drinking any beer at the moment because I am at work. I would, however, enjoy a great Tasmanian Cascade about now. Cascade is my favourite beer and it has the best flavour; to me anyway.

I think I was drinking Taylor Park white wine a while ago. It just said "white" on the label, and that it was from New York.
