Well - unfortunately Yahoo! has made a business decision that recognizes that the Spanish speaking Latino community (mostly illegal) is slowly, though rapidly acceleratingly, becoming the unofficial language of the United States.

It is quite unfortunate, as many laws have been passed in various states, including mine, requiring English to be the official language.

Ironically, when working for Sony electronics - even such a dominant company has officially chosen English as its international language...

Pity Congress and the Senate (and lame duck Bush) don't officially recognize English as our national language...

Learn it or leave.

Hi! I have just posted my answer to similar question that was starred by my contact Amanda and let me share the same here too: I would like my Answer to remain in the hierarchy of original posting place. And I also agree with the idea that let there be time-stamp(s) for each and every editing done by Asker or any respondent so that we can see the 'trend' of users, who would then be more careful in their first response/post. This idea of keeping the foot-print of movements may give enough information to any researcher about emerging pattern of how the users navigate or behave. And I am sure Y!AT already monitors a few of the criteria of the users for their research and fine-tuning purpose, anyway. To Amanda: Please do not let the edited answers drop down to the bottom. This is a negative incentive for anyone to perfect or correct an Answer.

because the USA is now run by Latino interest groups that are taking over the country. eventually the USA will stand for the united states of Americo, the national anthem will start with Jose can you see... and the national sport will be super bull for bullfighting. it's all downhill from here.

Do you really think that there are a whole lot of people in El Salvador with Internet access?

Yahoo recognizes a big percentage of the US population speaks Spanish and is marketing its service to those consumers. It's a very smart business decision. Just because they are making their service accessible to Spanish-speakers does not mean they are going to force everyone else to speak Spanish, too. Stop being so small-minded.
