I am making a seven layer salad and it calls for miracle whip and all I have is mayo

Miricle Whip is sweeter and has more vinegar in it. Mayo has an egg base and is not sweet. It is more creamy.

You can use mayo they are interchangeable in recipes - the big difference is Miracle Whip is a soy product the first vegan product to ever go mainstream. Mayonnaise is egg, lemon and oil - tastes are very close but real mayo reminds people of a creamed cheese and miracle whip is like less flavored ranch dressing. Although the flavors blind are indinquishable this is the taste difference if they see the bottles. Hope this helped!

Miracle Whip is spicier and sweeter than mayo.
However,, the seven layer salad should be fine with mayo.

They're the same thing. Miracle Whip is a brand name of mayo. It's also called salad dressing but the only salads it is used in are chicken, tuna, egg.

you can use mayo in it.
Mayo has eggs in it and has a little different taste, but for 7 layer salad, it won't make a difference.
this one calls for either
7 Layer Salad
1 head lettuce - chopped
1 - onion - diced
1 - bell pepper diced
1- can drained sweet peas
( sprinkle 1 tablesppon of sugar over sweet peas)
1 -1/2 cup mayo or salad dressing
1 - 16 oz bag grated chedder cheese
1 - jar bacon bits
layer the above as you read recipe starting with the lettuce
note: when you spread the moyo you may need to add a little more - should have enought to cover the peas.

They're pretty much the same thing. Miracle Whip is a brand name.
Use your mayo. It will turn out just fine.

Mayo is fine......Miracle Whip is alternative ingredient added in the late 80's when everyone got on the health kick and sacrificed flavor for calories and fat.

Miracle whip is more like a sweet dressing rather then mayonaisse. Mayo is more bland, not as sweet.

mayo taste better and whip w/e is more like whipped cream and has some vinegary taste to it
