What is the difference between a man and a dog? When the flesh of the dog is dead the dog is dead indeed. We are created in the image of God. What is the image of God? God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. How are we in the image of this trinity? Genesis 2 teachs God formed man from the soil he made his flesh then he breathed in the spirit and the two became a living soul. Are we more than flesh and blood? Yes if not we are the same as the dog and we perish with our flesh. If God is righteous he can not be in agreement with sin therfoe all sinners are forever a part from God which includes all of us we are dead according to the law. God understood before creation that we could not survive the law because we are imperfect and God loved us inspite of our sin and came to the world in the form of man to overcome sin as a man and to die in our place that the peanlty of death could be paid that we who accept his atonenment could be forever with him.

‘But isn’t Jesus called a god in the Bible?’ someone may ask. This is true. Yet Satan is also called a god. (2 Corinthians 4:4) At John 1:1, which refers to Jesus as “the Word,” some Bible translations say: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” But notice, verse 2 says that the Word was “in the beginning with God.” And while men have seen Jesus, verse 18 says that “no man hath seen God at any time.” (Authorized or King James Version) So we find that some translations of verse 1 give the correct idea of the original language when they read: “The Word was with God, and the Word was divine,” or was “a god,” that is, the Word was a powerful godlike one. (An American Translation) Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God. In fact, Jesus spoke of his Father as “my God” and as “the only true God.”
Did Jesus ever say that he was God? No, he never did. Rather, in the Bible he is called “God’s Son.” And he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” Also, Jesus explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that only God knew. (Mark 13:32) Further, on one occasion Jesus prayed to God, saying: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were the Almighty God, he would not have prayed to himself, would he? In fact, following Jesus’ death, the Scripture says: “This Jesus God resurrected.” (Acts 2:32) Thus the Almighty God and Jesus are clearly two separate persons. Even after his death and resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus was still not equal to his Father.
As for the “Holy Spirit,” the so-called third Person of the Trinity, this is not a person but God’s active force. John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with holy spirit, even as John had been baptizing with water. Hence, in the same way that water is not a person, holy spirit is not a person. (Matthew 3:11) What John foretold was fulfilled when, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, holy spirit was poured out on his followers gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says: “They all became filled with holy spirit.” (Acts 2:4) Were they “filled” with a person? No, but they were filled with God’s active force. Thus the facts make clear that the Trinity is not a Bible teaching. Actually, long before Jesus walked the earth gods were worshiped in groups of three, or trinities, in places such as ancient Egypt and Babylon.

Jesus is not God, not the Holy Spirit, but he IS the Son of God, just like he says over and over again in the bible. Matthew 26:39 and John 8:17, 18 are just 2 simple scriptures that show the distinction.
Certain religions will tell you that believing in the trinity is what separates them from all the unbelievers and wrongdoers of the world, but unknown to many of these religious followers is that the trinity theory originated in Egypt many centuries before Catholics got a hold of it.
Wikipedia.com - "The Bible does not include a description of God that codifies the doctrine of the Trinity as articulated by mainstream churches today.[2] The Trinity doctrine in its modern form is the result of continuous exploration by the church of the biblical data, thrashed out in debate and treatises, eventually formulated in a way they believe is consistent with the biblical witness at the Council of Nicaea in 325 CE, and further refined in later councils and writings."
"Some passages from the Old Testament have been cited as supporting the Trinity, and although the Old Testament depicts God as the father of Israel and refers to (possibly metaphorical) quasi-divine figures such as Word, Spirit, and Wisdom, modern biblical scholars mostly agree that "it would go beyond the intention and spirit of the Old Testament to correlate these notions with later trinitarian doctrine." [6]. Indeed, according to the Catholic Encyclopedia, some of the Fathers "found what would seem to be the sounder view" that "no distinct intimation of the doctrine was given under the Old Covenant."
In short - THERE IS NO TRINITY. So dont worry about trying to understand the theory. It's a bunch of bull to keep the masses thinking that the leaders of certain religions actually know more that they do.
Email me for any more questions that you may have.
PS - Now cue all the blind masses to give my answer a bad rating.
PPS - People will give you all sorts of clever analogies on how the "trinity" works, but the plain fact is that it is NOT a biblical teaching.
PPPS - And....it is NOT some "mystery" which we will never understand. It is plain and simple. It is the religious leaders today that have created this giant "mystery" by incorporating something that is not biblical into their teachings and confusing everyone.

The Holy Spirit, The Father and Jesus are all God. Those three make up the trinity. How can three distinct beings be one? That is where it gets hard. It doesn't make sense to our little brains. So you may get some confused answers. Some have compared it to how gas(steam), ice, and liquid water are all different forms of water. Each has different properties, but all are water. Some have said it is like the shell, white and yolk of an egg that all together form an egg. All of these fall short in some way since we are comparing things we can touch and feel with God who is not the same as those material things. So to explain HOW He is all of those things is beyond our abilities. It is one of those things we will have to wait until heaven to find out about.

There is a lot of confusion with the trinity. That is why after Christianity came Islam. It is unfortunate how it has been mutilated because if anyone is to look into this religion and read the Quran all the confusion from the major religions before it will be clear. To learn more information you can visit this website. It has helped a lot of Christians, Jews and even Muslims. http://www.submission.org. People are confused on this. Which is strange as God isn't. Simply put, God has bypassed the whole trinity question by not being part of it. All those who say he is point to one or other scripture of ambigous meaning to back up their 'thoery', those who say he isn't point to others. But the reality is, it really doesn't matter to God if we beleive in the trinity or not, so long as we believe that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead we shall be saved. However, (he says, chancing his arm) for the record. Although there are many scriptures used to point to the fact that Jesus is God and that the holy spirit is God, they actually do not say that in context and in harmony with the book as a whole. The real truth is simply that God is the father and is spirit. Jesus Christ was created by God to represent him on earth. He was a human man and represented God by being the 'image' of God. This means he acted as God would act, and behaved as though he was God himself (not by being bossy or ego filled or anything else so many God rejecters would have people believe, but being loving as God would love.). The holy spirit was made available by Christ's actions and death. It represents all that Christ was and is the 'image' of Christ as Christ was the 'image' of God. This spirit is created inside anyone who is saved and they become God filled with the spirit of Christ in. So that it is actually God, in christ in us. Not a three in one God, but a gift that has its purpose inalignment with God and Christ, and contains all that they represent. Hope this explains it as this is a long subject and my space here is limited. God bless.

this is a very confusing thing for people to understand simply because we have finite minds, and the Lord is infinite. His was are not our ways, the best was I can explain this is that they are one in the same with different roles. for example, i am a mother, and employee, a sister, and a daughter all at the same time. one person with many different functions in life. that is not exactly how it is with the Lord but that should help you to understand a little bit. The best way to gain understanding about he Trinity is to pray and ask God for revelation on this issue

There is God the father, and then there is God the Son, and then there is God the Holy Spirit. There is only one God, but three persons.
No one can figure it out. You are not alone.

it is called the holy trinity and very hard to understand or except. to do so you have to have total faith that three Gods can be in one. one cannot comprehend that you can leave the earth and travel outward and never stop as space is endless, but you know it to be so. faith is a powerful thing and also hard to understand.

The Trinity is nowhere in the Bible nor can you find it there unless you were first told what to "see" in the reading by your Church. Isolate a little baby and wait until he/she grows up (while still in Isolation). Then have the once-a-baby-now-an-adult read the Bible. If you ask him/her about the Trinity, he/she will say "where's that in the Bible?"
