I am making a seven layer salad and it calls for miracle whip and all I have is mayo

Miracle Whip has a blend of spices and it taste has a bit of a tang to it.

Traditional mayonaise does not have spices in it's ingrediants. It's flavour is more pure. You can add your own spices.

You can use mayo they are interchangeable in recipes - the big difference is Miracle Whip is a soy product the first vegan product to ever go mainstream. Mayonnaise is egg, lemon and oil - tastes are very close but real mayo reminds people of a creamed cheese and miracle whip is like less flavored ranch dressing. Although the flavors blind are indinquishable this is the taste difference if they see the bottles. Hope this helped!
