I'd like to configure Windows XP's built-in Narrator to read Word and text documents to me aloud. Yet it's unnecessarily reading all the menu and toolbar items (e.g. "File; Edit; View;" and so on), when I just want it to read the text I typed. To fix this, I ran the program ("narrator.exe"), and then left only "Read typed characters" checked. Yet Narrator still reads all the menu bars, etc.
Can anyone figure out how to fix this so that Narrator reads the text I wrote, and nothing else?
