I was just wondering what i should expect, will it be really painful? how long will it hurt afterwards? and because I'm getting it colored will that make it hurt more?

of course I know they apply it with needles, and I've already decided I will be able to live with it I mean it's only a tattoo

I don't see it as damaging my body

Of course there is some pain, but the shoulder blade is not bad, it actually hurts less there than a lot of other places. By the time they get to the coloring, your skin around that area is numb and you no longer feel it. The best advise I can give you to deal with the pain is " Take deep breaths and try to put your mind on something else, if you can do that you will be just fine.

Good luck with the tat.

I have tattoos on both shoulders. It's uncomfortable but no unbearable.

I wish that the people who are constantly bashing tattoo's would find another hobby. It is not damaging the body, if it is then make-up and clothes damage the body as well because it is altering the bodies natural state!

shoulder blades aren't bad. i have a tattoo on both of mine. the pain doesn't linger long. you may be sore for a couple days but it's nothing major. when it comes to the actual tattoo, the outlines hurt more than the coloring.

It'll hurt, but not terribly badly. Both of my tattoos have color, so I don't know about that hurting more. As to aftereffects, it feels like a bad sunburn at first, then heals over a couple weeks.

it depends on your pain tolerance as to how bad it will hurt. they are definitely bearable. it depends on where you get it as to how long it will hurt. i got two tattoos a week ago and one of them hurts still, the other one doesn't. but they both itch. color does not make tattoos hurt any more or less. ink is ink. and i think that shading hurts less than outline but that's just me.

Hi--I'm glad most people didn't give you a bad time! I love tatoos. I'd just want to be sure it was a "symbol" I could live with for the rest of my life, & that I got it from someone licensed & safe. With that in mind, go for it!
