How do you know if a peircing is infected?

i got my belly peirced a few weeks ago and i dont think it is infected but just in case it does get infected how would i know??

Pain, redness, puss(white crud)

it will hurt like crazy and ooze a puss
just dont touch it except in the shower and dont change it for several months and it will heal fine

Pain, inflammation, redness, soreness, leakage.

You would know.

It will be red, painful and swollen.
