God is humans' desire that the universe be human.

Humans occupy a tiny speck in the universe, in terms of both time and distance, yet we desire that the universe be human.

It's an understandable desire -- though why not separate wishful thinking from responsible thinking?

God is an entirely human construct, a concept first used a number of millenia ago in order to give scientifically primitive peoples a way to explain things that they saw and experienced. These explanations gradually become formalized.

What we today call religions are even more formalized ideas and concepts, grafted onto the most ancient ones, in order to make them more pallatable to the masses.

In that regards, the location of the God that any given individual may or may not see fit to worship can only be in that individual.

This question, believe it or not, is not a seasonal one. It's something can can be asked any time and for any reason. I hope that asking this question, for you, starts you asking all kinds of questions, particularly asking questions of religions.

I'm giving you a book title. It's an excellent, although lengthy, place to start finding answers to this one. There are many others.

The million dollar question. The real true answer.we really dont know.people put a lot of faith in the bible as being the true gospel but in fact the bible was written by man and could have been no more than a children's fable book for all we really know.I know this will ruffle some feather but it is true.we only know what we've been told from years gone by.no one on this earth can stand up and tell you that god is real because they really dont know.
