I don't follow a certain religion, but I do beleive in God.That's it.I try to just always do the right thing, not to be rewarded to go to heaven or because of fear of going to Hell,I was just raised to be a peaceful person.Does not following a cerain religion make me an atheist?Someone told me that being an atheist is just being absent of a religion, and that atheists don't always beleive there is a god?So what am I?

An atheist is a person who professes to believe there IS no God. An agnostic is someone who isn't sure whether there is a God or not. So no, you are neither an atheist nor an agnostic.

You are wise and spiritual. It is not necessary to join a man-made religion to be spiritual. If you wish to find others like you, though, you may want to check out any Unity or Church of Religious Science churches in your area. No fire and brimstone - no hell and damnation - just other peaceful spirits living human existences like you.

I suspect you'd be an agnostic - you believe in God but the belief doesn't make much difference. Atheists deny that God exists. You acknowledge the existence - but don't subscribe to any particular religion or creed.

I suppose the question then would become - can God exist without wanting anything? If God was responsible for creation, why? Is there a purpose for creation, and if so, what is it and where do we human creatures (ie, created ones) fit in the plan? Do we have a role? Do we have responsibilities? If we don't care whether or not God exists, does God care that we exist?

I can't accept the existence of God without wondering what that means for me. I think there is a reason, a connection, something that we as humans have to do as part of our creation.

But then again, I'm not an agnostic.

I am an atheist and was told by a demented one (Christian) that I believed in the Devil! He was too moronic to actually realise that HE believed in the devil - I am the atheist!

Why must you believe in a God? Take this moment of uncertainty and read up on why atheists do not believe in God. It may just make you see the truth out of this religious nonsense. A good place to start is Richard Dawkins new book called 'God Delusion' - he says it so much better than I can, and if you are still inclined to be a believer once you read that I would suggest you simply someone who wants to believe something...anything.

This makes you a deist - someone who believes in God but not in organized religion.

An agnostic is one who isn't certain if there is or isn't a God, while an athiest is certain that God doesn't exist.

Congratulatons for seeing through the hype, as did most of the US Founding Fathers.

You are a vague theist, which means that you believe in God but you don't follow a religion or considered religious in itself. I learned that term while taking the course called Philosophy and Religion in college.

you are not an atheist. an atheist denies the existence of God. and you clearly said you believed there was a God. You might be considered a pagan though, which is anyone who does not believe in a) Christianity b) Judiasm c) Islam

i don't think you are agnostic actually, becuase agnostics neither deny or support the existence of God, they say that it isn't logical to determine whether God exists.

Atheist just means not believing in a god, nothing to do with religion--and there are atheistic religions out there.

You might look into Deism.

Non Denomination

You believe in God, but just haven't chosen a domination. It does not matter if your Baptist, Methodist, etc. It just sounds like your a God fearing person with a good heart.

You are the same thing as me. It's believing in being a good person. I also don't believe in religion, but I do believe in God. I think if someone believes in Allah, then great. If they believe in Buddha, that's great too. Who am I to say what's right?

You are Muslim, all you have to say is ,"Their is no diety worth of worship besides God, and that Muhammad is the last and final messenger" in front of witnesses.

I suggest you read the Qu'ran, this is the first Surah we recite when we pray

[001.001] In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

[001.002] All the praises and thanks be to God, the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

[001.003] The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

[001.004] The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

[001.005] You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

[001.006] Guide us to the Straight Way

[001.007] The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).

Does that seem like how you want to pray? If so, msg me I can teach you more.
