Gasx works if your problem is intolerance for certain vegetables. Adults are often intolerant of milk and dairy products. Try Dairy Ease or Acidophilus.

There is a similar product called Ovol that works well.

Note: I noticed that someone mentioned Immodium AD. A good drug for diarrhea but not one that I would recommend for gas. It also have side effect s that you should check out before using such a drug. Information on Immodium can be found here:

Drugs such as Gas-X and Ovol work by absorbuing the gas in your system and have, as far as I have seen from what I have found and noticed, few if any sideffects in the short term or long-term

Information on Ovol can be found here.

If you need anything stronger, see a doctor. If you have a condition like IBS, and get pain with gas, a mild anti-spamodic might be appropriate, such as buscopan, but again, check with you doctor first.

Information on buscopan found here:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/uspdi/202522.htmlSome of the suggestions in other answers about baking soda may be worth trying also before going to see the doctor.
