I've lived in NY city all my life...here in NY, the weather has been acting a bit funny lately...it was freezing cold just a couple weeks ago, but now the weather is getting sorta better. you should DEFINETLY bring a coat, gloves, scarf, and hat. its still pretty cold.
You should make sure to bring lots of money...lol, just because NY happens to be the biggest shopping center like, in the world...you should definetly walk down a street called "5th Avenue", thats where all the designer stores and glamor stuff is.
of course, you should visit the traditional landmarks...statue of liberty, twin tower site, times square, the wax museum--and OMG, visit Rockefeller center, it looks SO pretty with all the lights and the tree and ice rink, its truly amazing, trust me :).
Well, i hope that helps--also, i'm sure there are lots of sites on the internet that can tell you the different things to do in NY (of which there are TONS).
ps., i have NO idea what that girl who answered above me is talking about, black is DEFINETLY not the only color new yorkers wear.?? like seriosuly, wtf? anyway, usually coats are darker colors, like black, brown, grey, navy blue, but thats just the bunch of ppl who wear petticoats. lol.
have a merry christmas!!

At the moment it's 40F, dropping into the 20F's tonight. I think next week will be about the same. Might be some snow coming.
Remember to look left when you cross the street.

Bring lots of warm clothes. Make sure they are all black too. That seems to be the only color New Yorkers wear in the winter.
