Depends. Some people develop hypertrophic scars (different color from the rest of the skin, slightly raised), some develop keloids (very different from the skin around, it can look like a wart).
If it is an old scar that has become hypertrophic, there is nothing you can do. A recent scar can be treated with creams containing copper.

There is no way to comepletley remove certain scars, such as C-Section scars or other surgical scars. These type of scars won't be able to be covered up. But, for other scars, there are certain swallable capsules that will begin to make scars fade so they are less noticible. Silicone, pressure, occlusion, topical cortisone and vitamin E help decrease collegen which form scars. "Gel Sheets" help flatten the surface of scars that are above the skin level. Certain creames can also help fade scars to make them less noticible. Hope this helped.

Lemon juice works very well. try putting some on the affected area with a cotton ball before you go to bed and leave it on over night. In the morning, wash it off. Within two weeks, you should start seeing them fade. But BE CAREFUL! It will sting a lot for the first few minutes

rosehip oil really worked for me - these were scars about 2-3 years old on my leg. also, you can buy gel sheets you put on the scar like a plaster - it will help scars disappear.
i also had acne scars on my face - i took lots of fish oil (omega-3), and drank lots of water. oh, and put vitamin e cream (body shop does an excellent one) you could try giving microdermabrasion a go as well, it basically gets rid of the top layer of the skin - bit pricey but quite effective.

Hey there! In response to your question Mederma is the best to use. I have tried it myself and it was great. There was no nasty smell or anything. I had tried a bunch of differnt things like cocoa butter, bleaching cream, fading cream, etc. Mederma is kinda of pricy but it is definately worth the money. Good luck!
P.S. be sure to be patient with it.

best off using creams containing Vitamin E, taking vitamin E supplements, or including plenty of vitamin E in a diet from sources such as wheat germ, nuts, vegetable oils, eggs and green vegetables, can help speed up the healing process, and lessen the appearance of any scar afterwards.

I've heard of this oil from Brazil called Rosa Mosqueta Oil & it has been in the Mail On Sunday & Sunday Times as a very good treatment for scars. (please see link).
Good health shops sell it but you can buy online. I know RioHealth sells it but you can search Google for other suppliers.
It's about &9.99 for 20ml.
Hope this helps!
merry xmas/happy new year!

It depends on the type of scar. I had surgery two years ago and I used coco butter to smooth out the scars. You can hardly see them. However, some scars had to be removed surgically. It depends on the amount of scar tissue has built up/

Its quite simple , You must bleach them away using any product that contains 2-4% hydroquinone, by the second week of this process, you should see a substantial fading of them. you can purchase these products in 2 % concentrations at any drug store and at higher prescription(4%) from a dermatologist.
