Some do and some don't. My hubby used to find a friendly female to take our daughter into the rest room. She always had a whistle around her neck to blow if she needed help.

Certainly. Women take their young sons to the women's room with them. If there are multiple toilets they will have stalls with locking doors. If the girl is young enough that the father needs to help, most stores have handicapped stalls which are big enough for two people. It's up to the father and the restroom design how to handle men standing at the urinals which are usually located near the sinks and between the door and the stalls. Most modern urinals have privacy screens and the girl probably won't even know what the men are doing. Some do not have screens and older ones are located on the floor. Chances are she won't even notice, but if he wants the father can walk between the daughter and the men relieving themselves. If she does ask questions he should answer simply and honesty. At that age it's just curiosity. Pervs should be no problem. Store security is close by. It's amazing how a night in jail can cool off feelings of perversion. Also, many stores nowadays have a family restroom which is large, private and designed for just this purpose.

Some stores like Target has a family restroom. If not, I would wait until a mature lady came along, and I would ask her to take my little girl into the restroom. If my daughter could not wait, I would take her into the men's stall with me. I would not send her into the restroom by herself.

A lot of this is depenedant on age.
If she is so young that she needs his presence, he will bring her to the mens restroom. If not, he can let her go into the womans restroom, and just call in the door to make sure she is okay around once a minute.
If she goes to the mens restroom, he will sometimes holler in the door, calling ahead to make sure no guys embarrass themselves, and to make sure the coast is clear. If she can go by herself, he puts her in a stall and stands guard, if she cant he goes in the stall and like a loving father he helps her do what she has to do. When they are done he helps her wash her hands.
There are pervs in this world so that its more scary to dads to let a girl go alone into a girls restroom, than to just bring her into the mens room and guard the stall like he will rip some guys arms out if anything remotely resembling untoward happens.

Nowadays there are family restrooms so I guess they would use those. If those are not available, they would have to take them to the men's room. Three years of age is probably too young for a daughter to go to the bathroom by herself. For one thing, she wouldn't be able to reach the seat.

My husband refuses to take my girls to the restroom when he is out with them. He would rather they go in the bushes than in the men's room. I think a single dad should ask a woman who possibly has one child with her if the daughter can go with them. Also I like the idea of letting her go alone (if she is four or older). If you let a three year old go in alone she might not know how to get her clothes off and on well enough to go alone. My 5 year old can go alone with no problem long as my husband waits at the door.

My ex would take our girls into the men's room. First he would peek in the door and see if anyone was in there. Then if someone came in while they were in there he would explain that his daughter was using the bathroom. He was VERY relieved when they were old enough to go into the women's alone. Which was about 5 yrs. old.

I believe they do take them to the men's room, or they'll ask someone to take their daughter into the women's room and they'll wait outside the door.
They do provide stalls in the mens' bathroom, which is suitable for single fathers usage. Obviously he'll have to escort her to the stall, make sure it's clean, and have her avoid looking at the urinals and the men that might be at them.

Make sure the bathroom is ok and take her into the mens room. What else are you supose to do? Is this not like a mom and a little boy? You do not let your little ones out of your site.

well first of all because you never know what kind of person is in the bathroom and what can happen to the little girls while they are in there I would check and see if there is anyone in the mens bathroom and if not i would take them into the mens bathroom and stand inside of the door if anyone trys to come in then I would explain to them that your little girls are using the bathroom and ask them to please understand and be patient and wait for your girls to get done.
