Serious question here. I've never really understood the meaning of the word 'flirt.'

Flirting is basically the way that you act when you're around a guy you like. Most people flirt by being extremely friendly with another person. Flirting is a natural way of acting around the opposite sex. It cannot be taught or shown. Its a unique thing that everyone does.

Flirting may consist of stylized gestures, language, body language, postures, and physiologic signs. Among these, at least in Western society, are:
* Eye contact, batting eyelashes, etc.
* "Protean" signals, such as touching one's hair
* Casual touches; such as a woman gently touching a man's arm during conversation
* Smiling suggestively
* Winking
* Sending notes, poems, or small gifts
* Footsies, the "feet under the table" practice

to flirt it just simiply means getting a guys attenion that u have seriuos feelings for .In other words u can flirt in any way just as long as he notices u.
