It's a bit embarressing for me, especially my father bc he looks so old but family is important and they aren't always gonna be around to spend time with. I don't want to waste precious time with my family bc I'm afraid of humiliation or seeing someone I know. How many of you would go see a movie with your parents? To what age would you go see a movie with your parents?

No.... I think it shows great charachter to go to a movie with your parents. Keep it up. Who cares what other people say, your parents are there for you for life, not them. If I could go back to HS, I woudl do it myself. Iddn't and I regret it. This is the only time in your life you really have withthem. You are gonan grow up and move away- enjoy it all. I wish I had.

I'll give you the old cliche, as used at it is; but it still holds true. You never know how long anyone has on this earth. The fact that you're putting your family over your own feelings of embarrassment is very commendable. =) You understand that spending time together is part of being a strong family unit. Obviously you don't want your folks hanging with you at the mall or at your friends' house.

I don't really think there is a certain age cutoff on seeing movies with your parents. I think this is more of a personal choice. Pretty soon you'll be in college (if you're going) or starting your own life, and I'm sure your parents are just trying to enjoy your company as much as possible. Take it as a good thing, it means you are loved. =)

No it’s not weird that you still go to the movies with your parents. I’m a junior in high school too. I love going to the movies with my mom. We always have a blast. We’re both unfortunately the loud people in the theater. We laugh so much (we like comedies). My mom is lots of fun and is not only a great stern, but fun parent; she’s also a very good friend and mentor. I’m sure you feel the same about your parents. I’ve found by watching my older sisters that the relationship between my parents and me is very important. I say enjoy going to the movies with them for as long as possible. In a couple of years they won’t be willing to pay to go to the movies, you’ll have to. I hope you will continue to have what my mom calls “date night” with your parents and not worry what others think. I know there are a lot of teens who wish their parents would take them to a movie, out to eat, or just talk to them. You and I are very lucky. We are not “weird” at all.

Well i am a medical doctor now .... and yes i still go to the movies with my parents ... there is nothing wrong or need to be ashamed of, if we spend time with those who are precious to us .... if that is what you believe in then you should keep on doing it and be proud of it. Of course the problem is if you ((((only)))) go to the movies with your parents. You should try and go out with your Friends as well. Which i understand you already do.

Hope this will encourage you ... good luck

A movie with your parents shouldn't be embarrasing at all. Your right, they won't be around forever, but they'll be around longer than any of your friends . Quit wasting time worring about what other people think. Do what you want to do.
Besides, movie theaters are pretty dark inside. Just make sure to send the old man for the popcorn without you.

Definetly ok. I was always ashamed of my parents because they were so much older than my friends parents. And when I was 19 yrs old, I came home from work one day and my father wanted me to go to the mall with him because he wanted to buy me a new pair of sneakers and take me out to dinner. I was hesitant but didn't want to hurt his feelings and so I went. We had so much fun, and for the first time, I really got to know my father. The day was spent talking and shopping and of course followed up with dinner at a sit down restuarant.

Then, about 3 weeks later, he died of a heart attack. I'm happy I had that day with him, and I'd give anything to have more with him, but it's too late. Doesn't matter how old you are, spending time with people who one will be gone beats out any humiliation that lasts temporarily.

No, it isn't weird at all. You should never be embarassed, aka ashamed, of your parents. Who cares if your father looks old? The older he looks, the more of a father he looks. You wouldn't want to go with a young looking father... eugh. Anyways, if you're afraid of seeing someone you know, then you shouldn't be going to the movies at all. There's this new thing called Rental where you can wait a couple months after the movie is out to go watch it at your house in your own privacy. It's quite popular.
The age I would go see a movie with my parents is until they die. Or, until they're deaf/blind. Usually, my mother doesn't have time to go to the movies with me anyways, so I end up going with my friends whenever I get invited.

No, not at all. All kids should go to see movies with their parents. It gives them time to bond. And since your a junior, you should be able to know that. You should go out to movies with your parents and then maybe some times with your friends. Your only a teenage once.

do no longer blame your mum and dad in case you're terrified of girls. That aside, they have been acceptable, 5th grade is a lot too youthful to this factor. Wait till you have young ones of your individual. aside from the aside. There quite isn't any reason to speak on your mum and dad approximately your love life except you're making plans to get married, or have performed something stupid like getting a girl pregnant. Ask them for suggestion in case you prefer, yet have faith me, they in all probability could desire to care much less with regard to the info of your amours. that's extra possibly that they are counting the days till your commencement and next exodus from their very very own snug little shack of affection. they do exactly no longer prefer you to complicate issues by utilising (see above).

your parents are one thing in life that you can depend on to care for you and love you .Unlike your so called friends who would not make fun of you or talk behind your back ,if in fact they were your freinds. Parents have feelings too .Just like teenagers and little kids and senior 's I say hanging with mom and dad at any age is a cool thing to do and piss on anyone who don't like it. Stay in school don't be a fool. Merry Christmas.be kind
