Tonight I am going to the movies to see The Pursuit of Happiness and I am really excited but there is a problem. I am going with my mother, my aunt, my 17 year old cousin and his girlfriend. My cousin and his girlfriend are little punks and are completely immature. They often say that they think it's funny to laugh at innappropriate times, and are constantly joking about the STUPIDEST things amongst themselves. The girlfriend is usually disrespectful towards adults. How do I handle it when, during the movie, they start acting out? I want to enjoy my movie. Also, they were not invited, my aunt is just bringing them along. To top it all off, my aunt thinks they are perfect angels that can do NO wrong, so saying anything to her is useless and actually I would be the bi%ch if I dared to say anything about their behavior. Any suggestions? PLEASE

Be candid with your mom about your feelings. Then, if you go, have mom sit next to you, then Auntie, then her charming offspring and friend next. Let your behavior keep you above complaining (rolling your eyes, etc.) over their childish behavior. With any luck, after a few minutes some adult may ask the kids to 'shut the fig up'.

If there is something that annoys you about someone, my suggestion to you would be to stay away from them. They were invited, not by you, but your aunt.
In life you will soon learn that there are very many types of people. no two will ever be the same, and there will be many things that you will dislike about many different situations. You either need to deal with it, or be a very lonely human being.
