It's a little distorted - but it basically means - live life to the fullest because whether you do or don't - you'll eventually die anyway.

"Fly" appears to stand for seizing life and fulfilling your vision
"Seize life" before you die, otherwise you might as will be dead - there is no point to living - you will die from the lack of having a dream to seize.

It doesn't make sense. I am sure she heard it from some where it didn't actually bother to think about what she was writting and/or misquoting it.

I think it makes sense in the fact that's is just someone's general observation.

It took a minute to figure it out, thanks to one of the others who answered. It seems to be a way to say "Carpe Diem", which is "seize the day", in a overly graphic way.
