How does my friend take care of her perm once she gets it? this is her first time and she doesn't know how to take care of it? help?

First, don't take a shower until 2 days later because it will wash out the perm. Don't brush the permed hair with a bristle brush because it will frizz. Probably a wide toothed comb.
When she can finally shower (it will seem like forever) wash with any shampoo (shampoo for curly hair does work nicely though). Have her dry her hair by patting it with a towel. She can wrap it up with a towel too, pretty much anything but rubbing it because again it will frizz. Then scrunch some anti-frizz or curling serum. Garnier Fructis has some nice products. (they come in a green bottle). You scrunch by evenly distributing the product through the hair and taking your hands and squeezing sections from the bottom.
Then let it air dry or blow dry it with either a special blowdryer for curly hair or a regular dryer on a low setting. You can hairspray it lightly if you like.
If she isn't taking a shower that day just have her wet down a wide-toothed comb and comb through her hair then lightly hairspray it.

If she hasn't gotten it yet, stop her! Seriously. I know you would love to have curls without using a curling iron.... it is harder to take care of than you think. The day she gets the perm, she can't wash it...after that she can wash it as much as she wants, she can use a pick to detangle her hair(no brush! it will become a fizzy poof) You can tell her to use biosilk( wish I had when I had a perm, didn't know of it then.) It is an oil you use a dime size, in wet hair.(sells at salons and wal-mart) You use an infuser on your blowdryer to help enhance the curls.
That is if you mean the "curl perm" other people say perms and it is a relaxer, if that is it..then i dont know. lol

all u got 2 do is wrap it every night,and n the morn put oil on it,and then comb it down,and if needed hot iron it,then u can style it however.

Put oil in it every day and don't wash it alot.wash it like every 4 days!!

dont let water touch it- gross , but true, it means u cant shower, that why i dont get perms
