Just make sure there is more rum than eggnog and you'll be fine, happy, but fine.
And you won't care about nutmeg nor cinnamon.

Serve In : Large Goblet (12 fl oz)
Type : Alcoholic Cocktail
Serves : 1
1 fl oz (25 ml) brandy
3 fl oz (75 ml) milk
1 tablespoon(s) sugar syrup
1 egg (s)
2 ice cubes
freshly grated nutmeg to garnish
Place the ice cubes in a shaker. Add the brandy, milk, sugar syrup and egg. Shake well.
Strain the mixture into large goblet(s).
Serve garnished with a sprinkling of grated nutmeg.
TIP:
Preferably whole milk should be used.
Half the amount of brandy can be replaced by dark rum for a variation.
To make sugar syrup, bring to boil on low heat in a small saucepan 3 tablespoons water and 3 tablespoons sugar stirring continuously so as to dissolve the sugar. Simmer for about a minute or two without stirring.

You can use Southern Comfort, Kentucky bourbon, Rum, Creme de Cacao, all sorts of things in eggnog- everyone has their own way. But whatever kind you use, 1 oz of liquor topped with 7 oz of eggnog should be plenty. I like nutmeg on mine, or you could rim the glass with it if you really wanna be fancy. Cheers!

If you are Irish like me, then it is 1 tbsp eggnog per each cup rum.
Believe me, follow this ratio and you won't care about nutmeg or anything!
