YES, YES , YES ,, I think we all have one of those !! The best advise I can give to hanle this situation.., Is have a good time, and enjoy your holiday, Christmas only comes once a year.. There is something to learn from people like this,, How NOT To Act !!!!!!!!!!

Sooner or later this person will either grow up and join the Merry Crowd, or will began to be a very unwanted guest at every occasion, not just Christmas ...

Great Question ,, I know everyone will jump on this one lol

Have A Very Merry Christmas
Best Wishes

Unfortunately, family is family, and there are people in it we sometimes choose not to be related to.The only thing to do in a situation like this, if you can, is pick something mutual for everyone to enjoy so that you don't have to deal with the person alone, for example:put on a fun Christmas movie for everyone to gather and watch, or...pull out a board game that requires 3 or more people to get involved in. If none of this works, choose someone to buddy up with for the day, and make yourself unavailable for this person to take the "Merry" out of your Christmas. Good Luck! And Hang in there :)

As my father would tell us all..." It does not matter if your worst enemy shows up at the door on Christmas. You offer them you hand in friendship and invite them in for a toast with cheer. It's only one day... You can give that day to the lord and love everyone. Tomorrow if you wish you can tell them what you think, but this one day you only say positive things and spread cheer."
God rest his soul, my father was a good man, and he always lived by this one rule that was his fathers rules too.
I have a brother that every Christmas sits with us. You give him a present and he usually give nothing back. You say Merry Christmas to him and he says "**** you".One of my sisters does not buy for him any more. My brothers response to this is "**** you all". We don't quarrel with him, we just let him be.
In the pass he would get drunk and start a fight with someone in the family. I'm sorry to say the police would he called and in jail is where he would be until the 26th of DEC. when he would be released. We always gave cookies and sodas to the cops, feeling sorry to burden them with our troubles.
I know this is not much, but hope your Christmas is a fun one with plenty of cheer.

Just stay away from that person. You can't let one person mess up your Christmas. I can't say that I'm in the same situation as you or ever have been but if I was, I wouldn't let anyone kill my joy for the holidays.

Just smile and go along. Why let someone ruins your Christmas? You give this person too much control over your feeling. It's only one day out of the year that you meet this person. By the way, did you ever talk it out with him/her?

Well always be nice to everyone anywhere but you don't have to chat with him or her very long just the usual Hi, how's it going and then say I'll be back and leave. Go to some other part of the house and if you happen to chat with them again just make it short and excuse yourself by saying your going to the bathroom.

Either ignore them or talk to them about it. My vote is for the latter since I love a good family showdown. I think it's healthy and normal.

try to avoid the person, and if they come by, make a nice conversation with them, but dont ask any questions, just answer thiers and eventually they will get bored. act like ur doing something, that works too.

yes, i know what you mean, in my family it's my brother in law and sister in law. they are the most fake people you will ever meet and it's very hard to sit and watch. just try to be around the ones that you enjoy their company the most and when you have to speak to these people just smile and be nice. we all have these people in our family and it gets very hard to bear sometimes.
