Go hang out in the parking lot of a 7-11 and look at the grubby humanity there that looks like My Name Is Earl, and spends its meager disposable income on beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets. That will completely dispell any desire to goof off and underachieve that you have right now.

I have some odd tendencies with studying, but it works. If I don't study I make myself sit alone in a room until I want to study. My bed is where I do my studying, and sitting in bed doing nothing really sucks.. so I think to myself "I really have to get this done". Then later, I make a mental note of rewarding myself after I have all of my work done. Like, "if I get this done now I can catch happy hour at the bar".

I used to hate studying when I was in high school. Sleeping in class, not doing homework are my forte. My grades were very poor as a result.

What finally happen to me is I find out my REASONS for studying. It is not other people's expectation but mine. For me, I find out that I have to study in order to not get rejected by schools, companies, and people. Not to get looked down by them.

However, for you, it may be different. So it's up to you to find your reasons to study. Once you have found the true reason behind it, then you would be motivated to study.
