I think its the 'rooster-chicken' theory. Only one rooster is needed for the whole chicken farm. At least that's the way society accepts the behavior of men. Seriously that's the way it is-there are more women then men. At college the ratiio is 7 to 1 and the men are estatic!

In the overall population, the ration is about 51% female to 49% male. Technically, it should statistically be 50/50. This is pretty close. Things that can affect the ratio have to do with little boys (and bigger boys). Boys tend to be more aggressive and do more dangerous things than girls. Generally. I know a lot of females that have more guts for danger than I ever did. But, generally, this is true. Men also work more dangerous jobs and do unhealthy things more than women.
But this is a statement about the overall ratio. In particular areas, there may be more boys than girls. Even extreme cases where the ration is very out of whack with 60% girls in an area. These are statistical anomalies. They will be balanced by areas with 60% boys.

I think it all just depends on where you live, in some towns it's the opposite. And some years there are just more of one than the other but usually it is the opposite the year or 2 later.

I teach 4th grade and I've had 2 years in a row with very few girls. It just depends on who lives in your school district.

Not just in elementry school, its all the way until school is over.
