Not necessarily. If left open to the air, some oxygen contact will cause some red wines to actually improve for a couple of hours, smoothing out the hard edges. After more than several hours, most red wines will start getting vinegary. This can be avoided by using a rubber stopper that allows you to hand pump the air out. The wine will last several days in this manner. This is good for those who cannot consume a whole bottle in one sitting. I use the Vac-U-Vin brand at home.

Any wine will go bad or turn to vinegar after 72 hrs on average. You can always go with the vacuum box which will keep the wine for over 1 month.

Not straight away.It enhances the red wines flavour,if you open it up a couple of hrs before consumption,but after a couple of days,it will start to go vinegarish.

yes, if you want to make it last longer after opened, use a wine vac that can be bought at most liquor stores. basically you pump the air out of the bottle to make it last a lot longer. we use them in the bar i work at and they work wonderfully.

Yes if left outside for a long time it is oxidised and becomes "vin aigre" in simpler terms vinegar
