It is in the spices section of your grocery store just like pepper, ginger, nutmeg etc. They are usually in alphabetical order at the store.

Baking aisle with the spices. Mccormick's makes good cream of tarter in a small square can with red white and blue labeling.
It is considered a spice and used for baking.

It will be in the baking and spice aisle. Cream of tartar is similar to baking soda. There is not a good substitution. If it calls for baking soda and cream of tarter, I would just use baking powder.

Baking Powder is not a good substitution for cream of tartar. It doesn't work too well for stabilizing egg whites.
If you need a substitute use white vinegar 1/8th tsp per egg white.
Cream of Tartar is found in the spices and baking aisle Mc Cormick is a good brand. It comes in a short plastic jar with a red top.

It is in the spices section of the store. The brand I have is Sauer's.
Since most spice sections are organized alphabetically, it would be near the cinnamon.

It will be where the spices are. I believe the brand McCormick makes it and it's in a small bottle, not the tall ones.. and it's a white powder.
