Explain how I pick up girls in the UK?

I am 40-something guy in the UK. I came from a country were everything was different. I arrived here as a married man with kids. I am now divorced. I am trying to figure out how to go to a pub or club and meet women. I have no idea how it is done in the UK - I grew up in a very different world. Can someone enlighten me?

More details: I grew up on a farm in Africa. I dated women by taking them up the mountain to look at wild animals. It worked like a charm there but not in the UK!

Well let me clear you of the British Sterotype, pubs and clubs are definitely not the places you want to limit yourself to, if you want to find someone long term.
There are certain types of people who hang around these places reguarly on the prowl,for a quick flight of fancy, to brag about to their mates, not that i would know personally, however my sources say these arent the places you should limit yourself to looking.

The world is a big place and so is the uk, do you have a certain hobby? if so join somewhere, where yourself and like minded people can meet and share your interests.

All i can offer in terms of advice, is for you to just be yourself, and not appear to be on the look out for women, because we women can sense signs of a desperado and it isnt an attractive quality, then again open yourself up to new horizons

Try speedating, join various clubs,and events in your local area, remember you cant rush love, it will happen when the time is right, you should concentrate on getting yourself happy, and content, and the right woman will come along...

For a start, it'll very difficult on your own - find a mate to go to the pub with. Secondly - the pub may not be the best idea for a 40-something man. Try joining a club, or a political party or something like that.

If all else fails, there are some dirty tarts down Kings Cross who'll do anything for £20. Get antibiotics the following day though.

Like you say this is the UK.
I too grew up in a different country and found life difficult moving here.
join social clubs ,
go out ,
spend time out with freinds and above all be yourself.
Dont try too hard.
The right person will be attracted to you for who you are.
Use your life experiences .......people in the Uk can find travels and different ways of life very exciting .

just take your time , there is no rush

picking up girls varies from girl to girl, depending on body shape and weight. The small petite of us can be picked up with just a hand applied under each armpit, and then an upwards application of force.
Larger models may require specialist equipment.

One good plan might be to go to evening classes.

There are always people of both sexes there and you will already have a common interest. It will be easy then to become friends and ask someone for a drink or a meal etc

have a conversation and swap numbers...
