He found it a couple of days ago. It is about the size of a walnut with no pain. No skin changes. It is firm and moveable. A little squishy. Has anyone has this or can help with some info on what it might be. He is going to the doc but I need some piece of mind so that my Christmas will be enjoyable. Thanks for any info!

First of all, enjoy your Christmas and the rest of the holidays! If it doesn't hurt, this can wait until you and your family have wonderful holidays! After the holidays,. get to the doctor. I had the same thing, but mine hurt every time I swallowed. Mine was in the same exact place. They found that I had a tumor/cyst on my submandibular gland. So, they removed my submandibular gland. You have plenty of these glands, so don;t worry if you have to have one removed. As a matter of fact, about 10 years later, I had another one and they had to remove another one of my glands. The good thing about this, is if you have a double chin. Because of the removal of the glands, it took away my double chin!!! Now, I have a perfect looking chin and neck! About the surgery. It isn't too bad. I think I was in the hospital a couple of days, because they put in a little drain and they have to watch it for infection. You can't talk for a day afterward! Then, you go home and continue to recover. You go back in a week to have the stitches removed. The recovery was not a big deal, just make sure you have a lot of soup and soft things to eat. Nothing you have to chew, because you can't for a little while. Anyway, best of luck to you! I hope all goes well. I do hope that you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year! God Bless!

I'm a nurse. I mass can be anything. Did the doctor say benign or cancerous? A mass is only a growth, a cyst, a piece of tissue, nothing really. I wouldn't worry until he tells you otherwise. I can say that I have seen a doctor have a cyst on his throat, it was cancerous. He had the surgery, and had chemo, and was later fine. He even lost his voice. But a mass is like a cyst. Try hard not to worry, the doctors will do everything they can to help your husband, enjoy your Christmas. I wouldn't let anything get in the way of having a good time for the holidays, right. You owe it to yourself to have a great time, so do just that. I want to share this movie with you. www.mayyoubeblessedmovie.com I hope you are blessed by this. I am a Christian and I will pray for you and your family. Enjoy the movie and oh yeah, Happy Holidays!

I know this sounds tough -- but try to enjoy Christmas anyway. Stress has a way of making bad problems worse, and making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Don't think about "what-ifs" until you have mapped out a virtual plan for surviving cancer and creating an emergency financial plan. Something tells me you might have already done that (I would, but I am a worry wort).

Sieze the day!

Could be a cyst or a salivary gland blocked. Probably not serious, but needs to be looked at.
