Sure you can, but you'll have to run some speaker wires to it from other car speakers. At that point it will be running off the amp in your car radio. And it will sound pretty bad unless you use a crossover to eliminate the mid-bass and mids.

You can educate yourself on speaker systems, replace your car speakers with more capable drivers and crossovers, and make it work without adding another separate amp. Try speakerbuilder.net, Crutchfield (search for component speakers), or search for home made speaker systems. But this is not the common method of car audio installation and is not something you will learn in a weekend.

In your case 525 watts is the amount of input power the speaker is rated for. The speaker does not supply this power. It can take that much power from an amplifier (speaker wires) and make sound from it -- up to 525 watts without burning through the voice coil wires. The amplifier/radio determines what power you're feeding to the speaker. Even a 1,000 watt speaker running from a 5-watt radio is still only handling 5 watts.

You list the Sub as 525 watts ,. How much power does you car stereo put out ? does it have a Dedicated Sub out ?
the Frequency that goes to the sub is limited so that it drives more effectively , without the Frequency and power being shaped for the sub , you will just be wasting money , because it wont sound good at all.
Sub need extra power and Crossovers to keep them in their proper range .

If it doesn't burn out your stock system, it'll probably destroy the sub. Even though it can handle 525 watts. The rating is not for extremely distorted (clipped) sound--which is what you'll have trying to push a sub with your head unit. Too little power can be a speaker killer.
If you want bass, just get yourself a small amp and do it right.
