I'm hoping someone can help me out with what seems like a hopeless situation. I had health insurance for 18 years when I worked in the aerospace industry. Due to massive layoffs I lost my job. I have had no insurance now for about 2 years. I'm not rich, but have enough that I do NOT qualify for medicaid. My income is nil right now, but my personal assets are fairly high. Last month i was diagnosed as having a brain tumor. I started having serious nerological symptoms, went to doctor and he ran tests. I could barely afford the $8800 it cost to achieve this diagnosis. Now I need chemo and possibly surgery. We are talking hundreds thousands. Is there any programs out there for me? I own my home, have some other assests, but only $6K in the bank. I don't qualify because i own my home. Am I going to have loose everything I spent my life working for because of this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Go to the hospital and talk to the finacial counslers. Tell them you need help as the hospitals write off and help people who can't afford it. They have Charity which they do for people who need help and don't have insurance. The hospital I go to just wrote off 15.000 in medical bills for me. then go online as they do have company's that help people out who don't have insurance. many company's have patient asst programs. If you take medication contact that company online and they will help you so you don't have to pay for your medication. Also apply for the Circuit Breaker as you can do that becuase you've got a medical problem. It will get you a break on your taxes, and your renewal for your sticker on your car. Next get a lawyer and call him so you don't lode everything. Also get a Land trust and do that right away. A Land trust will protect your assets so nothing happens to them In case of situtaions like this. Do that Immediatly. You can email me at mytwodogs60463@yahoo.com if you need any more assistance.

Oh wow! What a thing to have happen, especially at this time of year. Well, you can tell your story to a local broadcast station and see if they will start a fund for you but, either way your money will be lost because if you don't have the treatment it will go to your inheritors, if you use all your material and survive, perhaps you will find that the material was not the most important thing. You have a lot to think about, good luck and God bless.

Diagnostic tactics don't take away melanoma. They diagnose issues. I've not ever heard of a D and C as a healing for uterine melanoma. A D and C (dilation and curettage) is what you do for an abortion or after a miscarriage. She wants to speak to her physician about what she must do.

How about a charity or a church?
I belong to a big church, and when people have really needed help, they go in front of the church and ask for help, and the church takes up a special collection. we have raised over $100,000 in one service before. People have even gotten organ transplants by asking people to get tested and came up with a match within the church. Good luck.
