You should take control over your own destiny. Ask him out. I promise you won't die if he declines or if he doesn't want to be friends. More than likely he will go out with you & he may be surprised. He may also find it very sexy for a young lady to take the initiative and assert herself & go after what she wants. Believe me the worst that will happen is he'll decline but I'm sure he wouldn't refuse to be friends. You'll never know unless you ask. & If you don't when you get older & wiser you will always regret not asking. Get some balls & take control of your love life. By the way that's how I got my husband. I made the 1st call to meet him & get together. Had I waited for fate I may not be married to him. Now we've been married for 7 years & it's all because I had the balls to take the initiave in my own life. Beside I think that's one of the things he loves about me is my ability to speak up about what I want. Merry Christmas.

Be careful about this so that you don't ruin your friendship. New Years Eve is usually a good day to move on something like this. If you have been invited to a party, tell him that you were invited to a party but need to bring a date and see if he will come with you as a favor. Then, as the night goes on, spend time getting to know him. But, don't be upset if he doesn't take you up on dating in the future. Just feel him out during the night. If he already has plans that include a date with someone else, then you know to back off entirely.

That sucks to be in a position like that. My advice: Be patient and wait. Sometimes your friend does like you, but when you engage in a relationship if that doesn't work out then it won't be the same anymore. If you just remain friends with him, it might sustain your friendship but not your emotions. Be flirty and extra nice to him and see how he reacts. Wait for him to approach you, rather than the other way round.

If you like him that much then take the risk. You focus on him saying no but he can also say yes and yo, if you don't try then you've already failed.

grl if you guys are friends, and you want to ask him out then I'm pretty sure that he would say yes.
If he says no, then you guys aren't really friends.

ask him if he'd like to have some coffee??? lunch?? any drink?? you know?? you don't have to tell him "Hey, I like you and wanna date you" .. and when you're out with him.. the way he behaves around you will let you know if he is considering you as a potential g/f
