I would have thought that the damper weather there would make it retain moisture and possibly frizz but not be dry and break. Everyone is different. A salon could do a smoothing treatment, Farouk Systems makes one that works well on African American hair. It would soften the natural curl pattern but not relax it totally, so that you would have a softer curl and not as tight for lack of a better word. You may also then try some copper highlights or golden blonde to add some spark and dimension and change things up a bit.

In my view, it is a common myth that people in Britain complain about the weather because Britain has an unpleasant climate. Even if one looks at the majority who prefer hotter weather than I personally do, people in the very cold cities of China and Russia (Harbin, Siberian cities) certainly complain less about the weather than people in milder England. That, for a start should be enough to refute the notion that people in England complain because they have a bad climate! The same seems to be true about those in really snowy northern Japan or Eastern Canada. In fact, it is my view that people in Britain complain because they are spoiled most of the time by comfortably cool weather. The average top temperature in Britain ranges from a very pleasant 15˚C (59˚F) in the south to a very cool but not unpleasant 9˚C (48˚F) in the north – to me this is much more pleasant than many hotter nations that are supposed to have better weather than England. On the whole, I think that in general the better the weather a place has, the more people complain when it goes a little awry, and that at least 80 percent of the world has worse weather than the United Kingdom. One reads about the northwest coast of the US – which with its drier and sunnier summers is one of the relatively few places with better weather – and how people still complain a lot. The same is true in Australia – people in the pleasant far south complain more than those in the horrible climates of the brutally hot north.

I usually wear my hair in tight crimping rollers so when I take them out it's very wavy but I don't know how that will work for you. My Dad told me it is always very rainy in Britain ( maybe it was the season??) and H2O + our hair= afro. If what my Dad says is true I've often wondered how black women cope there with their hair. I know I'd have to just wear braids for the rest of my life...

Your hair and British weather and Boredom all in that order? Your hair in your picture looks just fine to me.
