Actually, all "black" cats are actually brown. You have to look at them in the right light, but it's true. There are a few purebreds that appear all brown though as well.

There are brown cats, they just aren't as common in coat coloring. I have a friend who has a brown coated cat, I think it mostly depends on the breed as well...

i have a solid brown cat i forgot what its called but it cost more than a regular cat
