Because they don't know any better.
Any "holiday" which says children with rich parents are "good" and children with poor parents are "bad", based on the number of toys they get, is screwed up. And any talk about a cuckolded husband and a wife getting some on the side as a basis for how people should live is even worse.
It's a load of idiotic codswallop to talk about "being nice to people" for ONE day per year" and then ONLY spending time with family members instead of being nice to strangers. Any christians who do go out on "christmas day" usually show road rage and foul mouths from snowy streets and jammed parking lots at a church. So much for "christian love".

Because you get presents of course!
But really, it's because giving makes us feel good and getting in the "spirit" of Christmas is fun.
Even if there were a way to prove God didn't exist and religion is a farce, people would still enjoy Christmas. We need to celebrate, especially in the midst of winter. It eases the winter blues.

A lot of Jewish families like Christmas, because it is a great celebration of joy. They like celebrations of joy.
They don't use it to celebrate the birth of the Messiah, because they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah.

I do love celebrating the birth of Jesus- I mean its nice to know we can do that. I also absolutely LOVE THE FOOD! And the lights, and hot cocoa- Christmas movies....its just nice. It's just an exciting time- spending time with family..honoring our Saviour Jesus Christ.

the food, the drink, the LIGHTS, the gifts, the time off school and work! the spirituality that some beleive is tied to it.
