You need to drink lots of water and pee a lot. It will hurt but it's the only way to get the infection out of your system. You should try to figure out what gave you the infection in the first place and stop doing that. I had a series of bladder infections over a year's time period and couldn't figure out what was causing it. My doc and I finally figured it out. You said you have pills so I'm assuming you've talked to your doc. If not you must go see him/her. There could be something else wrong with you that is more serious than a bladder infection. Also a bladder infection not treated properly could lead to a kidney infection and hospitalization. If you've already seen the doc, call their office and ask how long the pills should take to work or talk to the pharmacist. All the pills I took were noticeably affective after one or two days at the most. Your doc should be made aware the pills are not working. If you are too scared, don't have enough money or insurance. Find a free clinic and don't be scared. Seeing the doc is better than having a kidney infection or having to get a new kidney.

You need to get antibiotics from the doctor, which I am sure you know. Until you get to the doctor, to help with the pain, there is a medication you can buy at the drug store. It is specifically for bladder infection pain. It turns your pee bright yellow/orange, l;like the Rx stuff the doctor gives you. It's the same thing. I don't remember the name. But if you go to the store just ask the pharmacist what it's called and she/he will know. It works well to stop the pain and the feeling you have to pee every ten seconds. But still go to the doctor!!! This will make you feel better until then, but you wont be better until you take antibiotics. Good luck!

i know it hurts to urinate, but lots and lots of water. The female urethra is very short compared to a males, so all kinds of things get in there quicker than with the opposite sex. The best thing you cand do is try to go frequently to try to keep it flushed until you see your doctor. There is an OTC product called AZO for this problem, but I'm not sure how it works or what the cost is.

I'm a nurse. Yogurt is a good home remedy as well. Take otc tylenol or ibprofen (take as directed ) for the pain. I hope this helps. I would go to the ER for an antibiotic. My health is so important and yours is too, you are so worth it, right?
