let's face it: if god were perfect he would not be represented by sinning men, a fallacious book full of historical inaccuracies, out right self contradicting statements, and so on. of the 2,500 or so gods out there, how can we know which is the true god? maybe none, maybe we haven't found "him/her/it/them/et al," yet...
and please don't simply contradict my claims. even biblical scholars admit inaccuracies in the bible. for one thing, jesus prophesied that the end of the world was going to happen before some people in his presence died: Mark 9:1 (Matthew 16:28; Luke 9:27) And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Kingdom of God come to power."
didn't happen.

now I can get long-winded at times but goodness, if you have 7 pages of things to write about, save it and give a reference rather than copy/pasting it here...
THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO COME TO POWER does not mean the apostles preching. that's like saying that "milk jug" may refer to a violin played by a woman who happens to enjoy drinking milk. IF this powerful statement can mean ANYTHING other than what it appears, then you have no right saying that ANYTHING in the bible means only what it appears to (e.g. that gays are an abomination. or that women cannot teach in church)
Leviticus 20:13
1 Timothy 2:11-12
either it's clear, or it's not... you cannot CANNOT have it both ways. so i say again, jesus gave a false prophecy.

and to those who think maybe after 2,500 tries we should just give up... i couldn't possibly agree with you more. i really do long for the day when we realize that this world and eachother are ALL we have. then maybe loving eachother, like jesus is supposed to have said we should, will atually happen.

RAY:
first off if the transfiguration is the KINGDOM OF GOD revealed, why did jesus say "SOME" of you will not taste death? How many people did jesus think would die in 6 (or 8, depending on which gospel you read) days? Also, your references say nothing about KINGDOM OF GOD IN POWER, just building 3 tabernacles. that is again calling a violin a milk jug.

God's perfection has no relation to the sins of men. Neither is it dependent upon the perfection of men. On what basis do you even make such a connection? A fallacious book? Full of historical inaccuracies? Self-contradicting statements? These are bold words. What is an historical inaccuracy? What is a self-contradicting statement?
You say that even biblical scholars admit inaccuracies in the Bible. Give please an inaccuracy that a bible scholar has admitted. Do share. In every instance where I have read and heard such contentions, I have never seen a true inaccuracy or contradiction. Your example, where Jesus said that some of those standing in his presence would not taste death until they first saw something. What was that something? You said it was the end of the world. That is not what the scripture says. Jesus said some would not die until they saw him in kingdom power. Are you aware that you are describing the transfiguration? Are you aware that some days later, this is precisely what some of his disciples saw? Including Peter? Who later in his second letter (2 Peter 1:16-21) testified to this prophetic vision of Jesus in kingly power?
I say as Jesus did to some of his retractors at Mark 12:24-27: "Is not this why you are mistaken, your not knowing either the Scriptures or the power of God? . . . You are much mistaken.”

Actually, that was a true statement. It wasn't a prophecy of the end of the world, but life as they knew it. The Kingdom of God came into power when Jesus arose from the dead into eternal life. The true religion is the one that knows that Jesus is Lord God, Almighty. He is God's Word AND Son, because God's Holy Spirit overshadowed the virgin Mary. The followers of Christ, and accepters of His teachings and example ARE the true religion. The Roman Catholic church has the original holy scriptures as they were in power. The Protestants protested catholic teachings, because the catholics only wanted people to know what they told them was true, and killed those that didn't believe. (Spanish Inquisitions). Therefore, Catholics and Protestants are Christians because the Protestants came out of her. The problem is that the Protestants are divided even more, because some kept the old teachings, some did away with most of them, and some did away with all of them. Yet, because of this, Christianity is the largest religion. There wasn't even a bible until Martin Luther translated the Holy Scriptures for the common man to be able to read for themselves. There were only the holy scriptures, and the Roman Catholics weren't letting anyone see them. Since then, it has been translated so many times, that some points were lost in the translations.

Ok I will not try to contradict your claims. Live in ignorance and when you stand before God to answer, then you will know.
As for your statement regarding the kingdom. It did take place. A glimpse of that kingdom was given in the transfiguration of Christ. Read Matthew 17:3-4, Mark 9:4-5. Peter acknowledges it.

well i'm agnostic and i'm not sure if a higher being exists or not as there's not enough evidence to prove or disprove the existence of a higher being and you're quite right with some of the things you say about there being many different gods and religions and many things in the bible don't make any sense whatsoever and don't even sound realistic to begin with so there's no true way of knowing for sure who's right and who's wrong so i just live life the best i know how with morals reason logic and common sense and empathy

you sure do have a great deal to say ;but if you are going to quote scripture interpret it right . first of all these words will go over your head if you are not careful .the meaning of the scripture is true but you have to understand who Christ was addressing.so with out getting long winded know this .Jesus was talking about the signs that would be reveal before the end of the world.the kingdom of god is the church.which was established at Pentecost following Jesus death.henceforth those that he was addressing would be alive during that period. where are the inaccuracies please point them out.but know what you are talking about before you do

There is but one truth and if a man seeks it he will find it. Many have not found the truth and many never will. EDIT:The Bible cuts two ways it is truth to those who seek the truth and a stumbling block to those who don't. Again I will tell you the truth is available and it only comes from God but it is not that which you see with your physical eyes for these things you do not need God unless you are physically handicapped. The truth comes to those who seek the truth and those who have value in the truth and it only comes from God. Those that seek the truth receive a gift and that gift is faith. Through faith comes revelation and then you know the truth. You can not overpower God and discover him. God reveals his truth to you. John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. Jesus overcame death and said none who accept the atonement would ever taste death as with you they did not understand. wehn Jesus said destry this Temple and I will raise it up in therr days....do you suppose that was a building?

Perhaps sinning men exist so that others have a chance to do good, or so that sinners can correct mistakes and understand the meaning of forgiveness. Perhaps evil exists so that we may know what good is. What if we haven't found the true religion? what if what we need to find is true faith instead? .. faith in whatever makes us whole, strong and content..perhaps we will spend all of Time searching for truth.. perhaps it's inherent in all human souls..
have i confused you even more? :P

I would ask, do you mean John? Did he see the Kingdom come? I believe he did when he wrote Revelation. He did see the end. So what is the problem?

Its very possible that we have, and disregarded it, its also possible we may never find it as it is impossible to prove one religion and disprove another. To find the one "true" religion you would have to prove that religion with irrefutable evidence, not trying to disprove others.
Some things will never be discovered, some things will never be proven right, and some things will never be proven wrong.
