Well, unless your landlord has a rule against it, They can be found living anywhere from the deep south to Alaskia, and worldwide from India, Tibet and Europe.

Make sure you do your research because unless you are an active person and have LOTS and LOTS of time to brush and maintain his coat, and exercise him regularly, you're going to wish you'd stuck with a "foofoo" dog. One of my good friends has one, and he spends at least half an hour a day brushing and grooming his Husky, and another hour walking and playing with him.
Good luck!

Sure, but they need access to outdoor areas to play and run. They are not happy if they are kept couped up all of the time. They are extremely athletic and physically energetic dogs. It is best if they are kept in a large fenced-in yard. They don't make good apartment dogs. If left alone in an apartment for long hours, often they start tearing the place up.

Also heat is an issue. Because of their heavy coats they have trouble in very hot places like NYC in the summer. A partial solution is to trim their coats in the summertime.

You didn't say if you lived in NYC or New York State. Consider how much room you have. Not only is a large fenced in yard for this breed a good idea. You will need access to a large park or other open space so the dog can run.

If kept couped up too much this breed can go crazy quite easily, and you don't want a crazy dog! In addition to the space requirements the Huskies need a lot of attention. Usually, they get along with children well so they make a great family dog. The more people they come into contact on a regular basis the better.

The breed is strong, intelligent, loving, playful, hardy, good with children, easy to train and usually friendly to people including strangers. They are usually not a one person dog but sometimes they tightly bond with a family and will raise hell if a stranger comes to the door.

They do take a bit of care in terms that they need to be played with almost daily and it wise to spend some time training them.

Buy one from a reputable breeder. The breed got popular some years back and "puppy mills" inbred the dogs and some ended up with bad genetic conditions.

When they shed you will get the hair all over the place. And they like to chew so it can be a problem for the furniture.

With all that I have said above, if you can deal with the needs of this breed, one of them can be the best pet, friend and playmate that a person or family can ever have!

I grew up with two huskies. They will tell you when it's too cold outside for them. Dont be surprised if they dont want to come inside. Our huskies WANTED to be outside. They hated the nights we MADE them come inside. They had a nice dog house and of course there were two of them out back together. My dad made them a door into the side of the garage so they had somewhere to go when/if they got cold. It never happened. Although the guy under me is VERY correct!! These dogs dug under the fence all the time. And they ate all of the plants in the back yard, including 8 rose bushes!! They need an amazing amount of exercise! Huskies arent one of those dogs you can chain up in the back yard. You will have a mote in the back yard if you do. We had a huge back yard and my father would run 5 miles with each of them everyday.

Sure they can! They do need to be walked so you need to be able to do that. But Huskies LOVE the cold weather and will just lay in the snow in complete utter enjoyment. I'm in Missouri where we get all seasons and I'd have it's coat trimmed down in the summer months. Their coats do shed so be ready for that too.

Well it really depends on your ENVIORNMENT!!!

You need information to tell us like: how old is your dog, you live in a house or apartment, is it in the city or close to it?

Huskeys were and are bred for living up north. They have heavy coats for snow and ice. They will not manage well in a warm area and if you live in the city, will your dog have a space in the backyard to run and play? Think about that.

put more info next time

What a beautiful breed you have your heart set on, but I would recommend you research you dream dog. Your lifestyle vs the care for your pet. Your pick of Husky will enjoy the seasons in NY, please just make accommodations for the extremely hot weather months. I had a malamute.
