Baby life is hard and that is just part of growing up. At one point in my life I hated my mom and now she is my best friend. It was not until I had a daughter of my own that I realized that all she was trying to do is to help me make the right choices in life.

When I was younger, I hated the constraints I thought my parents put on me, but they kept me safe and I have a nice life now. I don't condone the hitting at all, but in situations where people love each other and frustrations come into the picture, there are bound to be some raised voices. Just try to keep the words from being hurtful, as words wound in worse ways than blows. With grounding, sometimes, you just have to say to yourself, fine, I'll do what I need to do tomorrow, and I'll give my parents their day. It's all a matter of working with who you have. If you feel they are being unfair, I hope you have the type of relationship where you can talk about everything. Just roll with the flow for right now, and know that the future will be here sooner than you think. I've apologized to my parents for being a jerk when I was a teenager. I think most people do eventually. Just realize it is a stage of your life you are in, you're not alone, and just relax. Good luck.

You must be a teen-ager. Right now, you may feel you hate them on occasion. I know I felt that way when growing up. Remeber, they are your teachers and they know what is best for you. You don't see it now, but when you "grow up" (in your early 20's at least) you'll have so much gratitude and pride in all your parents did for you. Trust Me!

You are immature to hate your parents for trying to correct you. Now, if they hit you and ground you for no reason, and in danger to you, sure, its ok to hate them.

you might think you hate them but you are really just angry and frustrated. what you hate is the punishment they gave you. they are doing what they think best. they have alot of responsibility and no one is perfect. try to talk to them about things you think are not fair when no one is in a bad mood. dont yell whine or accuse or blame. just discuss. the results may surprise you.

It's pretty normal to think that. What you need to do is rephrase it to say, "I hate it when you ground me." (or whatever it is) Then figure out how to avoid that situation in the future.

Its normal to feel this way. In most cases it passes. Typically people don't really understand their parents until their mid-twenties.
