I have a woodstove in my living room that we use to keep the house warm and even though we do add water to the tree almost daily, it still dries up pretty fast. Anyone has any ideas ?
Thanks ;-)

a good tip i have learned from interior design school is to put either sprite or vodka in the christmas tree bowl stand where you put the water. it keeps the tree green and fresh for a long time so it wont dry up. it sounds weird but it really does work.
also try and not use the heater as much, that does dry it up.

Of course tomorrow is "The Day", but I do have an Idea.

Nursery's in Florida sell a sausage size tube of a gel that helps keep plants from drying out when you leave home. This might work on the trees. It is a blue gel and the tube is the size of one lb. ground sausage. Merry Christmas.

They make a bottle,(kind of like an IV bag) it attaches to the tree and drips down into the tree stand. Fill the tree stand, and the bottle, with water. This should give you a couple of days worth of watering.

put a tea kettle/pot of water on the top of the woodstove, it will boil and release steam into the air and increase the humidity of the room.
