Ok, now a lot of people po-pooh the idea that Santa isn't real. Yet the same people sometimes go to church and worship God??? What is that all about? How can someone seemingly sensible denounce Santa then praise God??? God has never had to prove himself to be worshipped by the masses. Santa has to bring us all presents every year. I think it's a crazy crazy world and would much rather believe in Santa than God.... what do you think?

Merry Christmas everyone

You see... Mr Stick just proves my point. He rants on about Santa being garbage and parents liars to fill their heads with such nonsense then he unequivicably believes in God with no proof whatsoever (Apart from strange men in black dresses telling him so) So........ they say faith is Blind... it seems she isn't the only one ;o)

Jemma, I agree with your comments completely. Some people, even on this thread are quite happy to believe in God with absolutely no proof and laugh at people who believe in Santa. Santa, Father Christmas, St Nick etc. it all refers to the same spirit. There is proof that St Nick existed, there is no proof of God, just belief. With all the tragedies in the world, with death, disease, war, natural disasters and so on how can there possibly be a god??
The believers line is " God moves in mysterious ways". What a Cr*ck of Sh*t... He doesn't lift a finger because he doesn't exist.

Then the same people denounce Santa laughing at the impossible reasoning yet they had no problem with impossible reasoning with the story of Jesus.

So in answer to your question, people can be blindly led by faith even though if they examine it it is totally ridiculous and think they are so enlightened they can cast scorn over others beliefs.

The stories of Santa are just as viable as the stories of God or Jesus.

Take care and I wish you well for New Years.

Father Christmas was a jokey sort of figure that small children believed in and older children pretended to believe in. Santa Claus on the other hand is the embodiment of serious merchandising, a moral blackmailing exhortation to get every last penny out of parents' pockets. Seen that Argos advert, about making a little boy the happiest in the world ? OK, that doesn't feature Santa but the sentiment is the same. How can every little boy whose parents shop at Argos be the happiest in the world? It's so cynical. I'm glad my kids have grown up.

Well, you see, a big book never claimed that Saint Nicholas rose after he died. And that is all that separates people who worship God and Santa. Because the Bible said so.
But I personally stopped believing in Santa at age 7, and then stopped believing in God at age 12.

I believe in both. God is an unexplained element in my life. I find myself talking to god when I need a friend. Santa or father Christmas is the spirit of all things good. The spirit of santa lives in my heart and even though I know he won't visit my house tonight he is alive and well in the goodness of the season.

Children - believe in Santa, because they are lied to by their parents, about a guy who was designed for Coca Cola I believe.

St Nicholas, well there is another tale.

However, God, well what ever floats your boat, we cannot always enjoy freedom of speech, but surely some freedom of beleif, if we did not keep trying in informce our beleif on one another the world would be a great place to live would nt it!?

Wishing you a HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Someone worked out how fast Santa would need to travel in order to visit every child in the world during the hours of darkness. I forget what it was exactly, only that it was a quite phenomenal speed, and the idea was to prove how impossible the feat was. Of course, they failed to grasp the concept that Santa is magical, and that great speed only shows why it is impossible to see him.

Santa is not real.... the end, simple as.......

And why bother bringing up the God part? What's that got to do with santa?

Why should everyone believe in sant more than God?

Who is santa to be compared to the status of the Creator? The one that created you and everyone esle, and this whol earth and the universe? how can you say such thing?

Santa is a mere human that was called St Nicholas, that died donkey years ago, and now his actions still carry on, he does not bring no one presents! That's a load if nonsense! And Lies! That you feed your kids and brainwash them with!

Santa.... real.... brings presents... should be beleive more than God....? Hahahahah, get real please.... if you really think santa is real, show us him! No some any man from your street dressed up as him, get us the real santa. because there are millions of santas out there, which on brings presents? or is it just your mum and dad that do?

Istanbul is suited. St. Nicholas replaced into an easily guy living in Turkey. After he had inherited his mom/dad's money, he spent the money on development toys and giving to charity for little toddlers. He could have been a tremendous guy :) I even went to his church the place he's buried (in Demre).

I found out that my parents were the ones eating the cookies and putting the presents under the tree. I caught them red handed! I was 7.
