When You are in horrible traffic, and a driver is waiting to turn, to let that person go and not the other drivers behind him? Isn't that courteous enough?

No it is not wrong. In fact, if you did let out a bunch of them it would probably cause more problems. In this scenario, you would be on the more important roadway and those waiting to get in are on the secondary roadway. If you stopped and allowed several people in, you would be backing up the more important road and causing greater traffic jams.

Yes, it is courteous to let 1 car turn. But did you ever notice if you let a car get in front of you that they will be the ones to go 20 miles per hour on a 40 mph street?

I'm not sure if there's some unwritten custom about this, but when I'm out driving, I'll usually let one car go, then pull up. The car behind me can take care of the next car, and so on and so forth.

Now, if there are only a few cars waiting to get out, and it won't hold up traffic too much, then I'll sometimes let out all the cars myself.

It depends on the flow of traffic. If you have a green light do not hold up traffic just to be polite because it can cause more harm than good. But courtious driving is always a plus especially if you think you can help someone out who has been waiting. It is a judgement call.

No, that is not wrong. That is the right thing to do. And the right thing for the one person behind you who witnessed your kind act should do the same to the person behind the one you let by. And the person behind the person behind you should do the same to the person behind the driver that the person behind you let by. THEN, the person behind the person behind the person behind you should...

You know... there is no right answer for this. It all comes down to your morality. Whether or not you let someone by is a decision only you should ask yourself. Personally I think that actions deserve outcomes and if someone is wanting to force their way in front of me, I'd brush him / her off. Patience is a virtue not many these days seem to have.
