I am an exchange stundent here in the U.S. till June. I found this guy and I like him a lot and he likes me a lot too. Once he came over to my house to talk, and kissed me. Then later that day, he told me he wanted to be really good friends. I think he is afraid of the commitment because, not only has his heart been broken before, but he knows I will have to leave. I don't know what to do. He doesn't want to talk about it. Should I go out with him? Should I tell him that I want to go out? Please help me I am very confused.

If he wanted to go out with you, he'd ask you to go out. He doesn't want to, and he isn't interested in talking about it. He told you he'd like to be friends. Accept it.

If you feel / believe it could be enjoyable to have his company, to eventually (or MUCH sooner) be exchanging body fluids with him (kissing and way down below), you might try a date or two.
"Suit yourself."
Just be sure he knows that-- no matter what else is going on-- you're leaving in 6 months. You could have LOTS of fun between now and June.

Ask him if he wants to enjoy each others company and have some fun for the next 6 months.

He knows what to expect and just having fun can be the beginning of a nice friendship.

Sure go out with the guy! just make sure when you leave you call or e-mail as soon as you get back home. make a promise to each other that you won't date other people until you come back for a visit. then once you come back you can decide if you still like him and continue going out, or to break up with him because you've lost feelings for you.

Do not loose your self respect. if he loves you he will ask for a date..there are 3 words love, like & lust under this situation.. love is the best of all. you said the word" like", make sure what he feels about you, likes you are loves you. if he loves, you can go out with him, but don't be in a hurry, let him ask you. if his heart is broken and if he cannot talk about it let it go.. in this transaction do not break your heart .. Take care.

He really likes you, but wants something permanent. Since you're leaving, you can't do that for him, so he's protecting his emotions by not going out with you.

if you start going out with him there is a chance you will end up with two broken hearts.
